ICAR-Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute (ICAR-IASRI) is organizing a Training Programme on “Data Analysis and Interpretation” during 18-29 April, 2022 for the 43rd and 44th batches of ISS probationers. The inaugural session of this training program was held on Monday at ICAR-IASRI. Dr. RC Agrawal, DDG Education and National Director, NAHEP was the Chief Guest of this session. During the inauguration, Dr. Rajender Parsad, Director, ICAR-IASRI welcomed the ISS Probationers and presented glimpses of the rich heritage and history of the Institute. Course Director Dr. B N Mandal presented the course outline and said that the training will enhance the statistical and analytical skills of the trainees which will be beneficial for rendering their service more effectively. Dr. Tauqueer Ahmad, Head, Division of Sample Surveys detailed that the division is working in some very important Govt. of India schemes with Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and the ISS cadres have good linkage with the Institute. Dr. RC Agrawal in his inaugural address highlighted the need for real time data in monitoring Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He also stressed that the training should include details of Govt. Schemes in which ICAR-IASRI plays vital role and also to include the major contributions of the Institute in a lecture. The session ended with a formal vote of thanks to all the attendees by Dr. Ankur Biswas, Course Co-director.
