An Online 7 days Training Programme on “Computer Applications” for Technical Personnel of ICAR was inaugurated by Dr. Rajender Parsad, Director ICAR – Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute, New Delhi at 9:30 AM on 15 December’ 2022. The duration of the training programme is 15-21 December’ 2022. The aim of this training programme is to familiarize the ICAR technical personnel to develop their skill in Databases, Web Designing, Mobile Application Development, Programming Basics, Networking and Cyber Security through lectures and hands-on experience.
In the inaugural address, Dr Rajender Parsad welcomed all participants in the training programme and emphasized the need of Computer Applications in agriculture. He highlighted the importance of computer technologies for information management, dissemination, data analysis, modelling and prediction in agriculture. Dr Sudeep Marwaha, Head – Division of Computer Application, ICAR-IASRI highlighted the IT Initiatives taken by IASRI for NARES. Dr Shashi Dahiya, the Course Coordinator apprised about the requirement and importance of trainings in the overall development of an employee. She also gave an overview of the course curriculum of the training programme. A total of 49 ICAR Technical Personnel from the length and breadth of the country were selected for the training programme. Few training participants were invited to give their view and expectations from the training programme.
Dr. Chandan Kumar Deb and Mr. Akshay Dheeraj are the Course Co-Coordinators of the training programme. A formal vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Chandan Kumar Deb concluded the session.
