Kisan Diwas was celebrated online on 23.12.21. Six members from farming community namely Sh Satyawan (Delhi), Sh Bhupendra (Muzzafarnagar, U.P. ), Sh Karamvir(Hapur), Sh Abhishek Dhama(Delhi), Sh Hiranand (Bhiwani, Haryana) and Mr Gaurav (Haryana) were invited to share their experiences. Director, ICAR-IASRI addressed the meeting and felicitated the farmers. The Director also apprised them of various digital resources developed by IASRI and other ICAR institutes and demonstrated ICAR Video Gallery, ICAR Mobile App Gallery and ICAR Technology Repository. Dr Soumen Pal demonstrated KVK app and KVK Portal. Sh. Sanjeev Kumar shared the brief of Kisan Sarathi. Dr Sudeep shared the mobile apps related to veterinary sciences. Dr Anil Kumar shared the details of the integrated farming project. The farmers while expressing their views lauded the efforts of ICAR scientists in generating microbial culture, organic farming, residue free management of crops, dryland farming, co-operative farming, drip irrigation, integrated farming systems, Gur and shakkar preparation, biogas plant, medicinal crops and farmer producer organizations. The farmers also stressed that more effective marketing system would be helpful in getting the better price. Farmers also stressed the need for further improvement in the famer-research community interaction.
